Returns Of The Day

There's an ancient Japanese saying that when someone going to die, his or her life is played before them.

I am not going to die, but every year on my birthday, my life replayed before me, and along with each moment, my gratitude is overflowing to those who crosses over my path and send me strength to climb every mountain.

Below is only a tiny part of them, but you are all welcome to taste the joys of my path along animal rescue, and all the blessings I have been abundantly showered in the forms of friends and supporter around the globe.

Happy many returns of the day, I think I know where that saying is coming from.

  1. Happy Birthday, Josie. Thank you for all you do, and all your sacrifice, for the love of kitties. God bless you always.

    1. Animals have blessed our lives in so very many ways, JoAnn, my sacrifices are too small to be considered, especially because I do it out of my most sincere free will :)

  2. Happy Birthday Josie! Love the video. Though very sad to see some of the short-lived kitties and some that were mentioned in your blog posts earlier have left this world (Kaitou) / lost forever (Chase?), it's lovely to see the many ones who are still here and those who will keep having a chance at life because of you :)

    1. The honour is actually mine. Monsoon have always been a dreadful time for me. How do you fight an endemic sickness? and yet year after year I am replenished with strength and determination to do more and save more.

I am still mourning about Kaitou and Renoir, to be honest. Kaitou is the founding cat of The Whiskers' Syndicate and he died out of poisoning (by next door neighbour) only 6 months before we moved to a permanent property. Renoir is the first Syndicate to be featured on whiskerssyndicate.com, and I can't be more blessed with his sweet manners and devotion, although other cats give me their share of heavenly blessings all the way.

    1. When I first came to Bandung, I stayed in a boarding house. I rent a 3x4 square meters room. The landlord have a toddler son who continuously torture the family cat, even kicking and throwing her onto the wall, and yet the cat was so loyal to them. That cat ultimately ran away to my room because she can no longer hold on to the torture (while she was pregnant). I embrace her with open arms, and named her Grace, from
"Amazing Grace" because she is the one who give me courage to restart my rescue despite being alone in a foreign town. Grace gave birth to five kittens, two of them survived until today: Ainu (she is in the video, a tuxedo cat) and Kansai (grey tabby, also in video).

Whitney's mum is Estebel, she is black and white and not in the video. I have too many cats to feature and the song did not fit, though the lyric represent my very vow to each and every animals: Now and Forever, I will be your man.
